Welcome, thank you for joining the conversation!

Help us design your new city park! Saint Paul’s Parks and Recreation Department wants to hear from you to inform the design for a dynamic place for current and future residents.

The former “Hillcrest Golf Course” is now branded “The Heights” and includes 112 acres of land in the northeast corner of Saint Paul. As part of the 2022 master plan, the development includes a 5-acre city-owned park. The Department of Parks and Recreation’s will lead visioning, planning and construction.

During the engagement process, there will be an emphasis on developing the character of the park to tie it into the community. We want to hear your ideas for amenities, and suggestions for naming the park. Your suggestions, feedback and stories will be used to shape the design.

This is the place for you to participate. Engagement is now open and we want to hear your thoughts about the new park. Check out the different tools on this site and let us know what you want to see.

Stories From the People

Welcome! We provided this space of the website to allow residents to bring up stories or ideas on what the new park at the Heights should be called. This will give us a better understanding of what residents are thinking about to call this park. In addition to the name we would also invite residents the opportunity to describe some of the neighborhood characteristics so that we may be able to draw from these experiences that everyone has provided.

Once we have your suggestions for a name and narrow it down, the process will move through the Parks and Recreation Commission and later be officially approved by the City Council.

Thank you for sharing your story with us.
